College Union Inauguration & Arts Fest

Government College of Teacher Education, Thycad conducted the college Arts Festival “Chilambu 2k22” on 10^th and 11^th of March 2022. Preparations for the same had begun days in advance. The two day long event was inaugurated by Shri. Ishan Dev (Musician). The inaugural ceremony started with a prayer song by Ms. Aswathy A.S.(I M.Ed). The welcome speech was given by Mr. Vishnu G, General Secretary, College Union 2021-22. This was followed by presidential address by College Union chair person Ms. Gayathri B.L. After the presidential address, the dias was then presented by Dr. Jayasree T.K, Principal, GCTE, Thycad to brief the audience about the Arts festival and to introduce the chief guest. After that, the chief guest, Ishan Dev took over the stage and entertained us with his performance. The program was felicitated by Dr. V.K. Santhosh Kumar, IQAC Coordinator, GCTE Thycad. In the end, a vote of thanks was extended by Ms. Aifuna Nujum N, Arts club secretary, College Union 2021-22.

The students actively competed in various on stage and off stage events. In order to ensure maximum participation from every student and to inculcate in them a spirit of competition, students of M.Ed and B.Ed were divided into two groups. The competition items included Light music, classical music, Thiruvathira, Elocution, Oppana, Recitation, Film song, Western song, Guitar, Folk song, Mappilapaatu, Fancy dress etc. The events showcased many creative and attractive talents of the students. The ardent support from entire staff and students made the arts fest a remarkable event. It was finally concluded by the prize distribution ceremony. All in all the Arts Festival was a grand success underlining the importance of Co-curricular activities.
